Information Management Services
The Guardian Trust provides information services ranging from reviewing and tracking local land use records to assure consistent future uses to taking steps to assuring that proper deed restrictions are included as part of property transfers. These tasks will support the effectiveness of remedies relying on LUCs and ECs through the wide dissemination of essential information about LUCs and ECs to all stakeholders. Furthermore, the Trust’s relational database has been designed to track key information for sites that are subject to LUCs and ECs thereby providing important information to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”), states, local governments, financial institutions, landowners, prospective purchasers and the general public. The Guardian Trust database is an important resource to be consulted during any Phase I Environmental Site Assessment or the land planning and zoning decision making process. The Guardian Trust is also a participating member of the National Land Use Control Web Ring developed by the EPA, the purpose of which is to share information about LUCs from federal, state and private databases that respond to post-closure obligations and liabilities.
